Geraldine McDaniel, of Dixon, was born on July 17, 1942, in Maries County, a daughter of Henry David and Opal Maddie (Gorrel) Rollins, and departed this life at 11:43 p.m., Tuesday evening, September 12, 2017, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Mrs. McDaniel had attained the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 26 days.

Mrs. McDaniel was united in marriage on March 4, 1961, at Dixon, to Floyd Richard McDaniel, Sr. and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 23, 2012; her father on November 19, 1968; her mother on October 4, 2007; one grandson, Christopher Ellzey on March 14, 1989; one great-grandson, Aiden Pitts on September 19, 2007; two infant brothers, Merlin Clifford Rollins and Buddy Rollins; two sisters, Patrina Rollins on November 11, 2002 and infant Ruth Ann Rollins.

Mrs. McDaniel was baptized early in life and a member of the Sheppard Baptist Church, Dixon. She attended Dixon Schools and graduated in 1960. Mrs. McDaniel enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, collecting pens and pencils and reading, but above all she loved and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted homemaker for all her working life.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. McDaniel include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Floyd, Jr. and Stayce McDaniel and David McDaniel, all of Dixon; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Mike Plummer, Dixon; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Ginger Rollins, Dixon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella Mae and Gerald Veasman, Dixon and Brenda and Earl Brandon, Swedeborg; six grandchildren, Michael Filley and his wife, Jamie; Brittany Pitts; Zach McDaniel; Megan McDaniel; Ariel Johnson and Dylan Belt; four great-grandchildren, Ty, Logan, Aubrie and Brinna; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held for Mrs. McDaniel at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2017, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Scott Ballard, First Assembly of God, Dixon officiating.

Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. McDaniel were Michael Filley, Daniel Veasman, Zach McDaniel, Jimmy Veasman, Mike Plummer, William Rollins and Mike Rollins. Honorary pallbearers were Ty Filley and Logan Pitts.
