Obituary

Gertrude Hendricks, of Crocker, was born on September 16, 1920, in Miller County, a daughter of Fred and Etta (Lawrence) Curry, and departed this life at 7:00 a.m., Tuesday morning, December 2, 2014, in the Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Osage Beach. Mrs. Hendricks had attained the age of 94 years, 2 months, and 16 days.

Mrs. Hendricks was united in marriage on November 1, 1940, at Waynesville, to Curtis Gene Hendricks, and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 30, 1972; her parents; one grandson, Chad Gardner; four brothers, infant Harold, Wilbert, Ernest and Bud Curry; and one sister, Addie McMillin.

Mrs. Hendricks was a member of the Crocker Christian Church. She had worked at the hospital at Fort Leonard Wood for a few years as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Hendricks life centered around her immediate and extended family and she loved them all unconditionally. She cherished the strong bond she had with them and especially enjoyed their visits. She was generous to a fault. She loved living in the Crocker Community, where she lived most of her life. Mrs. Hendricks made many dear friends during her long life and enjoyed a close relationship with them.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Hendricks include: one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Louanna Hendricks, Camdenton; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna Kay and Ken Gardner, Crocker; three sisters, Lola Payne, St. Louis, Norma Frazier, Elmore, Oklahoma and Dean Caldwell, Elmhurst, Illinois; three grandchildren, Alan, Curtis and Chris; three great-grandchildren, Anna, Haley and Maggie; numerous nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Hendricks at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 6, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Pastor Doug Jacobson, Eureka Baptist Church, Richland and Bro. Rick Smith, Crocker, officiating.

Interment was in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Hendricks were Alan Hendricks, Curtis Hendricks, Chris Gardner, Danny Curry, Robbie Caldwell and Joe Frazier. Honorary Pallbearers were Gene Curry, Junior McMillin, Vic Pohle, Sue Caldwell, Roger Frazier, Don Frazier, Richard Frazier and Pauline Buildner.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Crocker Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
