Glen Eugene Carter, Jr., was born on February 27, 1960, at Waynesville, a son of Glen Eugene, Sr. and Jeanette Sue (McKinnon) Carter, and departed this life at 4:04 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014, in the Harry S. Truman Memorial VA Hospital, Columbia. Glen had attained the age of 54 years, 5 months, and 9 days.
Glen was a member of the Needmore Mission Church, Dixon and was a United States Air Force veteran. He had worked in retail sales in the St. Robert/Waynesville area and enjoyed fishing, football and listening to music.
Those left to mourn the passing of Glen include: one son, Glen Eugene Carter, III, Dixon; one daughter, Ashley Calloway, St. Robert; his mother and pastor, Jeanette S. Carter, St. Robert; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Dennis Schubert, Jefferson City; Peggy and Edwin Fedeli, Sterling, Massachusetts and Judy and Larry Chilton, Wesco; eight grandchildren, Tessa, Makayla, Alexis, Nathan, Hailey, Madison, Makenzie and Adrian; and many other relatives and friends.
Glen was preceded in death by his father on September 17, 2011; his grandmother, Letha McKinnon-Moore and a grandfather, James Lewis Carter.
Funeral services were conducted for Glen at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Evan Shackleford, Dixon, officiating.
Interment with full military honors was in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon.
