Obituary

Glenda Ann Holtsclaw, 75, of Dixon, was born on February 16, 1946, at Vienna, a daughter of Homer A. and Genevieve L. (Bade) Thompson and departed this life at 6:25 p.m., Saturday evening, July 24, 2021.

Mrs. Holtsclaw was united in marriage on January 6, 1965, in Pulaski County to Mr. Richard Guy Holtsclaw and to this union, one son was born. She was preceded in death by her father, Homer on August 29, 1979; her mother, Genevieve on August 18, 2004 and an infant sister, Doris Jean Thompson.

Glenda was baptized early in her life. Following graduation, she went to work at Fort Leonard Wood and worked for In and Out Processing, retiring on September 30, 2003. She loved to go fishing with Richard; working in her yard, gardening, sewing, her dog Shadow and spending time with Richard.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Holtsclaw include: her husband, Richard Holtsclaw, Dixon; her son, Rodney Holtsclaw, Dixon; her siblings and their spouses, Bill and Mary Thompson; Jefferson City; Joyce and Chuck Cassidy, Dixon; Carol and Jim Holleman, Holts Summit and Michael and Cheryl Thompson, Jefferson City;  her four grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson, Timothy Holtsclaw, Matthew Holtsclaw and Kaitlin Holtsclaw; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Jack Caple, First Baptist Church, Dixon officiating.

Interment will be in the Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Holtsclaw are Timothy Holtsclaw, Matthew Holtsclaw, William Holtsclaw, Brandon McNeil, Derek Faherty and Jeremy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Kaitlin Holtsclaw, Shane Thompson and Jason Sears.

Memorial contributions are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Dixon.
