Harold Joseph Hancock, age 78, of Tipton, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026 at his residence. He was born February 1, 1948, at St. Louis, a son of Harold “Pete” and Lena Mae (Jones) Hancock.

On June 20, 1981, he was united in marriage to Marlene Lucille Farris who survives at the home. On April 20, 1983, they welcomed their first son, Harold Timothy and their second son, Joseph Paul on August 1, 1984.

Joe retired from Federal Civil Service.

He loved farming and taking care of his horses and cows. Joe was fond of his horse, “Bill” and was proud of his cows and showed them at competitions at fairs. He did this alongside his young sons.

When he was no longer able to take care of the farm, he found a new passion, traveling. He and Marlene would take road trips throughout the country to national parks and beaches. He enjoyed several Caribbean cruises and an Alaskan cruise.

Joe loved and was proud of his children and grandchildren. His oldest son, Tim is a successful and reliable truck driver with National Carriers. He was blessed with two grandchildren, whom he was able to watch grow up. As his grandchildren grew, he enjoyed attending their sports games and you could find him in the stands cheering loudly.

In addition to his wife, Marlene, he is survived by his children, Harold Timothy “Tim” Hancock, Tipton and Joseph Hancock and his wife, Jessica; two grandsons, Jack Hancock and Jeremiah Hancock and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold “Pete” Hancock and his mother, Lena Mae Hancock.

A private graveside service was held for Mr. Harold Joseph Hancock, in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
