Harold D. Smith, of Crocker was born on September 22, 1936, on the family farm in Crocker, a son of Thomas H. and Nellie J. (Whittle) Smith and departed this life at 10:48 a.m., Monday, January 11, 2021 in the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach. Mr. Smith had attained the age of 84 years, 3 months and 20 days.
Mr. Smith was baptized early in life and was a member of the Good Will Baptist Church, Crocker. He had cut and delivered wood to the charcoal kilns near Iberia for a short time and later worked at the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop for many years. He enjoyed driving, no matter if it was the truck, car or the tractor, cutting wood and being on the farm.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Smith include: his sister, Ava Stoumbaugh, Crocker; his niece, Janet Marso and her husband, Alan, Crocker; three great-nephews, Brian (Tina) Foster and Kent Stoumbaugh, all of Crocker and Ryan Stoumbaugh, Naples, Florida; one great-niece, Amanda (Nick) Ward, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four great-great nieces, Elaina Foster, Ava Ward, Lilly Ward and Alli Foster; one great-great-nephew, Riley Foster; his many dear friends at the Workshop and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Thomas in November 1973; his mother, Nellie in December 1987; an infant sister, Mary and his nephew, Jim Stoumbaugh.
Visitation from 10 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Bill Claiborn, Hilltop Christian Church officiating.
Interment will be in the Bethany Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Smith are Brian Foster, Kent Stoumbaugh, Alan Marso, Randy Reimensnider, Tim Reimensnider and Riley Foster. Honorary pallbearer is Ryan Stoumbaugh.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop or to the Bethany Memorial Gardens Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
