Obituary

Hayden William Wolfe, age 20 of Dixon, was born on May 6, 2003, in Parsons, Kansas, a son of Lee William Wolfe and Lucretia Ann (Smith) Wethington and departed this life on Friday evening, February 16, 2024 at his home in Dixon.

​     Hayden was baptized early in life at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Jefferson City. He worked in construction. He loved fishing, just being outside enjoying the outdoors and being with his family and friends. In his free time, he would tinker, create and build things. He loved learning about his paternal heritage of the Cherokee and Delaware Nations. Hayden was a kind soul and free spirit that enjoyed life and loved his family with a passion.

​     Those left to mourn the passing of Hayden include: his parents, Lucretia and Shawn Wethington, Dixon; his father, Lee Wolfe; his grandparents, Joyce and Teddy Bales, Crocker; James Smith and Peggy Bowman, Dixon; Reva Wolfe, Chetopa, Kansas;  John (Buddy) and Kay Wolfe, Chetopa, Kansas; great-grandparents, Dorothy Smith (Gram), Owensville and Mildred Blackledge, Chetopa, Kansas; his siblings, Noah Wolfe, Tanner Wethington, Dylan Wethington and Addilynn Wethington, all of Dixon; uncle, James (Shilah) Smith, Westphalia; uncle, Brent (Brittany) Smith, Sullivan; aunt, Dana (Brian) Johnson, Miami, Oklahoma and aunt, Laura Wolfe, Chetopa, Kansas as well as numerous cousins and other relatives and friends.

​     Hayden was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ronald and Patricia Wethington; Raymond and Bertha Burch; Dwight (Moody) Smith, Nora Evans, and Andy and Ruby Redden as well as his uncle Rodney Wethington and aunt Rhonda Wethington.

​     Visitation will be held for Hayden from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., all on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon.

​     A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.

​     Memorial contributions are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available the funeral home.
