Obituary

Helen Jane "Cochran" Rea, of Dixon, was born July 13, 1943, in Given West Virginia, a daughter of Farley Andrew Cochran and Maggie Ellen "Hart" Cochran, and departed this life at 4:25 am, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Phelps Health, Rolla. Helen had attained the age of 82 years, 9 days.

Helen was united in marriage in June of 1961 to Lowell Edward Rea, and to this union, two children were born. The young family moved to Missouri in March of 1973 from Ohio. Along with being a homemaker, Helen went to work at Brown Shoe Company after their son Scott started school, but her passion was working alongside Lowell on the family farm they had purchased to raise cattle. She also worked at the Paramount Hat Factory, and Briggs and Stratton. She always joked "I closed all three of those factories, it is time for me to enjoy my grandchildren!", which she very much did. She got to spend the last few weeks of her life living with her great-grandchildren, which she enjoyed so much. She said she loved waking up and getting to spend time with them and watching them play even if they were fighting and loud! The family enjoyed her great cooking. She was well known for her chicken and dumplings and her Halloween parties. Her three loves were Lowell, Elvis, and Winnie the Pooh.

She was proceeded in death by her Mother and Father; Three brothers, Edward Lee Cochran; Donald "Dingle" Cochran; Charles Gay Cochran; two sisters,  Orgae Casto and Wanda Patterson. Her sisters-in-law, Velma Mae Cochran, and Linda Rea; brothers-in-law Carl Patterson, and Floyd Rea.
