Obituary

Henry Grover "Hank" Koppelman, age 75, of Dixon, was born on March 6, 1947, at Joliet, Illinois, a son of Grover and Katherine (Koncor) Koppelman and departed this life at 10:24 p.m., on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Phelps Health, Rolla.

Hank was united in marriage on January 31, 1970, at Joliet, Illinois to Miss Lynn Bell and to this union, one son (Chris) was born. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Katherine; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Rosemary Bell; a brother-in-law, Dennis Bell and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Koppelman.

Hank was baptized as a young child and was a member of the Catholic faith. Following high school, on December 7, 1967, Hank joined the United States Air Force in Joliet and served his country until November 25, 1971 when he was honorably discharged at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Following his military career, Hank went to work for Exxon Mobil as a machinist and worked for over 33 years, retiring in 2005. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing.

Those left to mourn the passing of Hank include: his wife, Lynn Koppelman and his son, Chris Koppelman, both of Dixon; one brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Carol Koppelman, Phoenix, Arizona; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eric Bell, Phoenix, Arizona; Bernie Bell and his wife, Shelley, Hayward, Wisconsin; Gerry Bell and his wife, Cynthia, Ottawa, Illinois; Debby Bell, Morris, Illinois and Peggy Bell, Houston, Texas; several nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces, as well as many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held for Hank in Joliet, Illinois at a later date and time to be announced.
