Hildegard “Hilda” Elfriede Cockriel, age 98, of Rolla, formerly of Dixon was born on , May 7, 1928, in Wittgensdorf, Germany, a daughter of Gustav and Louise Gregor and passed from this life on Friday, October 16, 2026, in Cedar Pointe, Rolla.

Hilda was united in marriage to Richard Lawrence Cockriel on September 23, 1954, in Manheim, Germany, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2017. In addition to her husband, Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Louise; Brother, Joachin Gregor and wife, Edith; and other relatives.

Mrs. Cockriel was a faithful member of the Dixon United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. She had been employed by the Post Exchange both in Germany and Fort Leonard Wood, volunteered at the Fort Leonard Wood Hospital, and the Post Thrift Shop. She enjoyed fishing with her husband at Stockton Lake, bird watching, crocheting and was an immaculate housekeeper and home maker. Hilda especially enjoyed the monthly social interaction with members and friends of the Dixon High 12 Club.

Those left to mourn the passing of Hilda include special friend, Wanda Baker, Dixon; nephews Jim Goucher and Kevin Goucher, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services and inurnment will be held for Mrs. Hildegard Cockriel on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 25350 Highway H, Waynesville, Missouri 65583, under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
