James "Jim" Arthur Davis, age 83, of Crocker, was born on September 14, 1940, at Moberly, a son of Cressie and Mildred (Rutledge) Davis and departed this life on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at his residence near Crocker.
Mr. Davis was united in marriage at Dyersburg, Tennessee to Elizabeth "Beth" Ann Davis, and to this union, five children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cressie and Mildred Davis; two sons, Charles "Rusty" Davis on June 17, 1990 and James "Andy" Davis on August 6, 2021; his brother, Gary Davis and a sister, Paula Welch.
Mr. Davis was baptized early in life. He was a United States Army veteran, having served his country faithfully from 1958 until 1961 when he was honorably discharged. Jim was owner and operator of Hawkeye Auction, and auctioneered until his failing health of this year. Mr. Davis enjoyed reading, watching game shows, westerns and the news, however his passion was spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish the memories of Mr. Davis include: his wife, Beth of the home near Crocker; his children, James (Shannon) Davis, Dalton, Georgia; Timothy Davis and Anita Davis, both of Crocker; his eight grandchildren, Daniel (Kyia) Davis, Cody (Jordan) Gibson, Aaron (Sabrina) Davis, Tanner Davis, Chance Davis, Montana Fritch, Christina "Fred" Davis and Jay Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Gibson, Ozzie, Miller, Brody, Quinn, Kinlie and Cecilia; his sister, Marilyn Christy and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held for Mr. Davis from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2024 and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 with his funeral service following at 11 a.m., all in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, 416 North Commercial, Crocker, Missouri 65452.
Interment with military honors will be in the Hawkeye Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
Memorials are suggested in Memory of Mr. James "Jim" Davis per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the funeral home or in C/O the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O., Box 700, Crocker, MO 65452.
