James Earl Wilson, of Crocker, was born on March 4, 1926, at Crocker a son of James Allen and Clella Cora (Carver) Wilson, and departed this life at 4:40 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Mr. Wilson had attained the age of 86 years, 11 months and 2 days.

Mr. Wilson was united in marriage on August 20, 1955, at Waynesville, to Dorothy Ellen Plemmons and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Danny Earl Wilson; his parents and one sister, Audrey Simpson.

Mr. Wilson was a member of the First Baptist Church, Crocker and a United States Army veteran. He had worked for Howard Ready Mix, St. Robert and was a farmer for all his working life. Mr. Wilson enjoyed horses, dogs, fishing, wood working and spending time with his family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Wilson include: his wife, Dorothy Wilson, Crocker; one daughter, Debra Light, St. Louis; one sister, Opal Sheppard, Dixon; two grandchildren, Scarlett and Savannah Light; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Wilson at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Billy Claiborn, Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker, and Pastor Benjamin Vankuren, First Baptist Church, Crocker, officiating.

Interment with full military honors was in the Crocker Public Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Wilson were Rory Ebrecht, Rodney Ebrecht, Ian Ebrecht, Bill Plemmons, Bob Simpson and John Simpson. Honorary pallbearers were Jeffrey Londoff and Rick Burnett.
