Janis Charlene Tanner, age 69, of Crocker, was born on June 3, 1954, at Waynesville, the daughter of William Charles and Mabel Loraine (Knox) Pummill and passed from this life on Monday evening, November 20, 2023 in the Mercy Hospital Springfield.

Janis along with her twin brother, John were baptized on May 12, 1963 and was a lifelong member of the Crocker Christian Church. She was a 1972 graduate of Crocker High School and was a civilian contractor for EDP at Fort Leonard Wood. Janis enjoyed playing Bingo, the St. Louis Cardinals, baking, and quilting, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Janis include: her daughter and son-in-law, Candra and Gordon Moss of Waynesville; her sister Linda Sharp, of Bedford, Texas; her four grandchildren, Demarion, Marshawn, Zackary and General; two nephews, James Sharp and his wife, Kristen and Jeremy Sharp and his wife, Jennifer and many other relatives and friends.

Janis was preceded in death by her father on November 30, 2017; her mother on May 20, 2010 and her twin brother, John on February 2, 2021.
