Obituary

Jessica Dione G'Sell, of Dixon, was born in St. Louis County on November 18, 1975. Beloved daughter of Thomas and Barbara G'Sell, Jess left this life at 12:21 P.M. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at her residence near Dixon, after a fierce battle against cancer, fighting with great strength and bravery for several years. She remains forever young, just a few weeks past her 40th birthday.

Jessica had an idyllic childhood playing with her little sisters on the beaches of Port Aransas, TX. After moving back to Missouri, she attended and graduated Dixon high school and began to raise her family. Most recently, she lived in Branson, MO, where she worked in hospitality. Jess was an avid seamstress and crafter, even starting an online boutique with her two daughters. Jess just LOVED little children and animals and was most happy surrounded by both. She was active in animal rescue and supported breast-cancer awareness. Jessica was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. At the time of her passing, she was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints.

Jess is loving mother to two sons: Tristan Cobi Hottum and Gavin Patrick Hottum, and two daughters: Rachael Marie Kirk and Mia Giselle Hottum, all of Dixon. She is also mourned by her father and mother, Thomas ("Red") and Barbara (Harpstrite) G'Sell, and her grandmother, Irene Harpstrite, all of Dixon and grandmother, Virginia Miller of Troy. Sarah Ray G'Sell and Cora Nerissa G'Sell both of Dixon, grieve their older sister, who also leaves three nieces: Mackenzie, Lexi and Emily and two nephews: Trevor and Anthony, all of Dixon. Jessica was so blessed also to be grandmother to Ever Leigh Kirk, of Dixon. Countless aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends also mourn this great loss.
We will remember her genuine smile and ever-helping hand. Loved and cherished by so many, she is an inspiration to all and will be sorely missed.
