Joanne Spath, of Salem, formerly of Dixon, was born on July 4, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth (Lewis) Palenske and departed this life at 2:47 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016, in the University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia. Mrs. Spath had attained the age of 73 years, 6
months, and 19 days.
Mrs. Spath was united in marriage to Leonard Charles Spath, Jr. and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 3, 1998; and her parents, Elmer and Elizabeth and one sister, Patricia
Ramsey.
Mrs. Spath was a member of the Catholic faith and had attended the St. Theresa Catholic Church while living in Dixon. She worked for TRW in Illinois making auto parts and later worked for Quaker Window Products, Freeburg while living in Dixon, as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Spath enjoyed cooking, watching television, reminiscing, and being with her
family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Spath include: two sons, Jonathan Spath and James Spath both of Salem; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy Ann and
Matthew Reiter, Villa Park, Illinois; one sister, Arlene Brennan, Shabona, Illinois; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Heather Marie and Christopher Krupa, Carol Stream, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends.
