Joseph "Joe" Carl Marso, of Crocker, was born on January 29, 1954, at Crocker, a son of Gerald John and Ava Oneida (Drace) Marso, and departed this life at 1:55 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017, near his residence. Joe had attained the age of 63 years, 4 months, and 5 days.

Joe was first united in marriage on July 9, 1982 to Peggy Humphrey. He was later united in marriage on September 6, 2006, at Iberia, to Kimberly Kay Nightingale. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim on August 12, 2016; one son, Toby Minor on December 8, 2012; his father on May 25, 1999; his mother on July 22, 1994; and two sisters, Beverly Marso on November 20, 1970 and Marilyn Wilkes on November 16, 2012.

Joe was a 1972 graduate of Crocker High School and was owner and operator of Shoreline Construction. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan and enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing with his grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Joe include: one son, Andy Smith, Crocker; three daughters and one son-in-law, Aleshia Marso, Columbia; Lorna and Wacey Deardeuff, Iberia and Sara Marso, California, Missouri; three brothers, John Marso and Gary Marso both of Crocker and Gerald Lee Marso, Richland; one sister, Nina Black, Swedeborg; six grandchildren, Austin, Shelton, Amanda, Harley, Halen and Harper; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Joe at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Pastor Roy Gilkey, First Christian Church, Waynesville officiating.

A private family burial will be held at a later time in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia.
