Joey Dean Atterberry, age 48, of Vichy, was born June 4, 1975, at Waynesville, a son of Freddie Dean Richmond and Barbara Imogene Lawson, and passed from this life on Monday May 27, 2024, at his home.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at an early age at the First Baptist Church of Jerome.

Joey enjoyed fishing, hunting, and any time spent outdoors. He loved hunting for arrow heads, enjoyed gardening and had quite the green thumb, but he especially loved caring for his mother, Barbara.  He will be very missed and never forgotten

Those left to mourn the passing of Joey include: his children, Traven Tyler Eugene Atterberry and fiancé, Krystalyn of Chillicothe, Phylicia Kamay Young, and Chelsea Leann Atterberry both of Rolla; five grandchildren, Kaylie Rayne Atterberry, Tyler Ray Atterberry (expected in July of 2024), Jaylyn Leann Young, Emelia Mariana Espanio, and Kaliyah A'alani Jo Espanio; his mother, Barbara Wright of Vichy, one brother, Bradley Allen Atterberry of Belle; two sisters, Patricia Bean and Tonya Atterberry both of Dixon; and many other relatives and friends.

Joey was preceded in death by his father, Freddie; two brothers Jessie Lewis Atterberry and Stephen Atterberry; sister, Bridget Griffith; and his stepfathers, Vernon Louise Atterberry and Peter David Wright.

Following the wishes of Joey, the family elected cremation under the direction of Martin Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
