It is with great sadness that the family of John Joseph Lazar, age 51, of Rolla, MO, formerly of Ohio, announce that he has gone to his forever home with Jesus. John passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He had his person by his side as he left this Earth. He knew how loved he was and how much he was cared for by all of his Laci's Haven family.

John was born in Ohio to John Esha Lazar (of Iraq) and Cathy Marie Deckard (also of Ohio). His mother remarried John Poull. John does have one sister whom the family doesn't have a name or whereabouts of. For some time, John lived in Camden, MO in a community Residential Facility. In 1976 John was relocated to Rolla, MO where he lived at Orchard Hills Road. In 2008 John moved to Laci's Haven, formerly known as The Jody House. Laci's Haven became his forever home here on Earth.

John is survived by all of his caregivers/family at Laci's Haven both past and present, his person, Julie Moreland of Rolla, MO, the Operations Manager David Knorr of Rolla, MO, Rebecca "Becky" Allen of Waynesville, MO and Loretta Rouse of Waynesville, MO.

John is fondly remembered for his million dollar smile that could brighten even the darkest day. His beautiful blue eyes that would melt your heart. For his hand gesture letting everyone know that he was a handsome man. His love of Batman as he had just about every piece of memorabilia you could think of. The Andy Griffith Show as this was always the show he would be watching if his television was on. Reba McEntire and Martina McBride were just a couple of the wonderful singers that he would yell for and/or listen to their music. John made an impact on any and everyone who he came in contact with. He definitely won over the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him throughout his years.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Esha Lazar, Cathy Marie Deckard, and John Poull, a housemate Mary Ann Moore, and a Laci's Haven staff Darrell Centeno.

Memorial Services will be held for John at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Laci's Haven, 5 McFarland Drive, Rolla, Missouri 65401.
