John David Rujawitz, of Jefferson City, formerly of Dixon, was born on May 2, 1962, at Fort Leonard Wood, a son of John Edward and Kathleen Fern (Rollins) Rujawitz and departed this life at 3:34 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016, in the SSM St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City. John David had attained the age of 53 years, 11 months, and 5 days.
John David was united in marriage on August 3, 1991 at St. James, to Debra Sue Hill. He was preceded in death by his father, John Edward on February 22, 2012; his grandparents; and one niece, Mallory Payton Rujawitz on December 17, 2005.
John David was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Jefferson City; the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association and Dinosaurs of EMS. He had been a volunteer for the Dixon Fire Department and had worked for the Dixon Ambulance Service, the Pulaski County Ambulance, the Fort Leonard Wood Ambulance, St. James Ambulance and the Maries Osage Ambulance. At the time of his passing, John David worked for Cole County Paramedics and was their EMS Training Supervisor. He enjoyed traveling the Historic Route 66, collecting model trains, Coke memorabilia and was an avid history buff.
Those left to mourn the passing of John David include: his wife, Debra Rujawitz, Jefferson City; his mother, Kathy Rujawitz, Dixon; three sons, John Luke (Colleen) Rujawitz; Chris David Rujawitz and Caleb John Rujawitz, all of Jefferson City; four daughters, Dana (Brad) Gunter, Hartville; Desiree' Smith, Blue Springs; Katie (Johnny) Johnson, Surprise, Arizona and Sarah Rujawitz, Jefferson City; two brothers, James (Janice) Rujawitz, St. Peters and Jeff (Brenda) Rujawitz, Dixon; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; uncles; aunts; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation for John David will be held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 and from 10 – 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, all in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon. Interment in the West Fairview Cemetery near Dixon.
