Joseph Stephen Duffy, of Dixon, Missouri was born on November 22, 1950 in Malden, Massachusetts, a son of Joseph Earl and Gertrude Hazel (Doyle) Duffy, and departed this life at 2:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 following a sudden illness, in the Columbia University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Mr. Duffy had attained the age of 65 years, 5 months and 18 days.

Mr. Duffy was united in marriage on November 22, 1990, in Harrisville, New Hampshire to Linda Marie Morton, and to this union, one daughter, Jennifer was born. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Earl Duffy.

Mr. Duffy had worked around the United States doing construction work. His last job was at Fort Leonard Wood and he and his wife, Linda decided to make Missouri their home following retirement. Mr. Duffy was a member of the Eagles, Moose Club and Elks Club.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Duffy include: his wife, Linda Duffy of the home in Dixon; his mother, Gertrude Duffy, Swanzey, New Hampshire; one daughter, Jennifer Duffy, Dallas, Texas; one son, Gregory Kazanas, state of Hawaii; one brother, Michael Duffy, state of New Hampshire; two sisters, Kathleen Bundy, state of Texas and Maureen Barnes state of New Hampshire; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial gathering for Mr. Duffy will be announced at a later date for family and friends.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon, Missouri.
