Joyce K. Bartholomew, of Crocker, was born on December 6, 1937, at Lockney, Texas, a daughter of Robert Lee and Margie Oleta (Smith) Pope, and departed this life at 11:30 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2015, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla. Mrs. Bartholomew had attained the age of 77 years, 6 months and 22 days.
Mrs. Bartholomew was united in marriage on February 16, 1958, at Bynumville, to Bob Earl Bartholomew and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 9, 2013 and her parents, Robert and Margie.
Mrs. Bartholomew was a member of the Church of Christ, Crocker. She had worked for fifteen years in civil service as a supply clerk at Fort Leonard Wood as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Bartholomew enjoyed traveling, ATV rides, gardening, her dogs, sports of all kinds, but above all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Bartholomew include: one son, Tony Bartholomew and his companion, Jennifer Hilgert, Springfield; one daughter, Debora McGuire, Crocker; one brother, Lee Wayne Pope, and his wife, Delores, Chilhowee; one sister, Elva Dee Duncan-Hulett and her husband, William, Chillicothe; two grandsons, Matthew McGuire and Bobby McGuire; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and interment were conducted for Mrs. Bartholomew at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2015 in the Fitzgerald Cemetery, Bynumville under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
