Obituary

June Ann Weathers, of Nixa, formerly of Dixon, was born on April 25, 1939, near Dixon, in Maries County, a daughter of William M. and Dale Anita (Lawson) Hinson, and departed this life at 6:45 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, in the Christian Health Care East, Springfield. Mrs. Weathers had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 74 years, 4 months and 10 days.


Mrs. Weathers was united in marriage on July 19, 1961, at Miami, Oklahoma to Billy James Weathers and to this union, two children were born. She was preceded in death by her father on September 8, 1999; her mother on October 5, 2008; one brother, Bill Hinson in 2004; and two brothers-in-law, Larry Hayes in 1992 and Claude Bell in 2011.

Mrs. Weathers was a member of the Calvary Bible Church, Nixa. She had worked as a Transportation Passenger Supervisor at Fort Leonard Wood, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Weathers was a volunteer for many years at the Fort Leonard Wood Thrift Shop and she enjoyed going to garage sales and working in her flower gardens and being with her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Weathers include: her husband of 52 years, Billy Weathers, Nixa; one son, Michael James Weathers, Springfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Anita and Adam Tallant, Waynesville; two grandsons, Kyle Tallant and Jake Tallant; two sisters, Virginia Bell, Dixon and Jane Hayes, Vienna; one sister-in-law, Judy Hinson, Columbia; several nephews and nieces and her dog, Teddy; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services was conducted for Mrs. Weathers at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 9, 2013, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Rev. Karen Alden, Woodlandville United Methodist Church, Rocheport, officiating.

Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery near Dixon, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Weathers were Keith Hayes, Mark Hayes, Kyle Tallant, Brian Tallant, Adam Tallant and Pete Jeffries. Honorary pallbearers were Jake Tallant and Johnnie Bell.
