Obituary

Kimberly Kay Marso, of Crocker, was born on July 1, 1958, at Wichita, Kansas, a daughter of James and Geraldine (Vogt) Nightingale and departed this life at 12:39 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016, in the Mercy Springfield Hospital. Kimberly had been ill for some time and had attained the age of 58 years, 1 month and 11 days.

Kimberly was united in marriage on September 2, 2006, at Iberia, to Joseph Carl Marso. She was preceded in death by her father, James in September 1999 and one son, Toby Minor on December 8, 2012.

Kimberly was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 4956, Crocker and was owner and operator of J & K Package Store, Crocker. She enjoyed going to the river and fishing as well as spending time with her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Kimberly include: her husband, Joe Marso; her mother, Geraldine Nightingale; one son, Andy Smith; one step-son, Jeff Smith, all of Crocker; four step-daughters, Tammy Smith, Laquey; Lorna Deardeuff and Sara Marso both of Iberia and Aleshia Marso, Columbia; one daughter-in-law, Robin Koch, Crocker; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Phyllis Minor, Niceville, Florida; Jim and Georgia Minor and Michael and Giselle Nightingale, all of Waynesville; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Debbie and Randy Schaefer, Sartell, Minnesota; Janet and Brian Demske, Osceola, Indiana; Tina and Wayne Combs and Samantha Elias, all of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Austin, Shelton, Amanda, Harley, Halen and Harper; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Kimberly at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Pastor Roy Gilkey, First Christian Church, Waynesville, officiating.

Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Kimberly were Steve Deardeuff, John Deardeuff, Wacy Deardeuff, Ron Clemons, Eric Schwandt and Billy Null. Honorary pallbearers were Big Joe and Dwight Marso.

Memorial contributions are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
