Kitsy Jane McKinnon, of Dixon, was born on October 28, 1954, in Phelps County, a daughter of Junior Ralph and Sally Lou (Casey) Jones and departed this life at 4:11 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in the Lake Side Meadows, Osage Beach. Kitsy had been in failing health for the past few months and had attained the age of 66 years, 2 months and 30 days.

Kitsy was united in marriage on June 1, 1975, in the Gasconade Baptist Church near Dixon to Freddy Lee McKinnon and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on May 11, 2005; her mother, Sally on January 28, 2009 and her father, Junior on August 3, 2019

Kitsy was baptized early in life and was a faithful member of the Gasconade Baptist Church, Dixon. She was a 1973 graduate of Dixon High School and then she attended SW Baptist College in Bolivar. Kitsy retired in 2016 after 33 years as Chief of Administrative Services Division for the Director of Military Personnel. She was a member of the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop Board, and had served as President from 2011 until 2019 and had received the Emeritus Award Status.  Kitsy enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, feeding and watching her hummingbirds, piddling and whatever her heart desired.

Those left to mourn the passing of Kitsy, but cherish her memory include: her children: Casey McKinnon and his wife, Brandy; Aleesha McKinnon and Jacob McKinnon, all of Dixon; her brother, Mark Jones and his wife, Jamie; her sister, Penny Sisco and her husband, Rick, all of Dixon; four grandchildren, MaKayla, Raylee, Isaiah and Owen McKinnon; many nephews and nieces, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3 - 5 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2021 and from 10 - 11 a.m. with the funeral services at 11 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2021 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Lawrence Chatman, Pastor Scott Ballard and Pastor Jack Caple officiating.

Interment will be in the Sheppard Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Kitsy are Travis McKinnon, Timmy McKinnon, J.T. McKinnon, Jeremy Jones, Josh Jones and Chance Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Casey McKinnon, Jacob McKinnon, Owen McKinnon, Isaiah McKinnon and Timmy Holtsclaw.

Memorials are suggested by the family to the Sheppard Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
