LaVonne Fern Wilson, age 89, of Dixon, was born December 4, 1934, a daughter of Andrew Freeny and Cora Florence (Proffitt) Saunders Sr., and passed from this life on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was united in marriage on June 23, 1952, at Piggott, Arkansas, to Robert Lee "Bob" Wilson, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2014.
LaVonne was a member of the Wheeler Church of Christ, Dixon, and a former member of the Dixon Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher. LaVonne was a devoted housewife and homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and being with her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of LaVonne include: two sons, Robert Arthur Wilson and wife, DeeLinda, Farmington; and Derrell Evan Wilson, Minneapolis, Minnesota; three daughters, Vicki Elaine Brown and husband, Jim, Dixon; Marcey Lynette Knight, Box Elder, South Dakota; and Kathy Ann Webber and husband, Gary, Rolla; fourteen grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with another expected in July; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she was preceded in death by twin sons, Robert Lee Wilson Jr. and James Lee "Jimmy" Wilson; one granddaughter, Kayla Dawn Brown; four brothers, Peyton Saunders, Wilson Saunders, John Saunders, and Andrew Saunders; five sisters, Jessie Mullins, Oleta Nickerson, Billie Doris "Punkie" Cardin, Ruby Nell Green, and Ollie Vee Zoller.
Visitation for LaVonne will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 13,2024, with her funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Kevin Rowden, officiating, all in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 205 W. Third Street, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
Interment for Mrs. LaVonne Wilson will be in the Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for LaVonne will be Andy Brown, Brian Foster, Eric Knight, Zackary Knight, Craig Wilson, and Brandt Webber. Honorary Pallbearers for LaVonne will be Brian Brown and Conley Knight.
Memorials are suggested in memory of Mrs. LaVonne Wilson to the First Fair Haven Children's Home, 3132 N. Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65757, with envelopes available at the funeral home, or in care of Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box GG, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
