Lawrence Thomas Larry "Pee Wee" Doyel, age 77, of Dixon, was born September 5, 1947, a son of William Thomas and Eula Beatrice (Stokes) Doyel, and passed from this life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Phelps Health, Rolla.
He was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, the National Rifle Association, and the American Legion Post #354, Brinktown. Larry enjoyed farming, checking cows, going to the senior center, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On December 27, 1967, at St. Louis, Missouri, Larry entered active federal service in the United States Army and served until October 19, 1968, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Dix, New Jersey, at the rank of Spec 4. A man of excellent character, Larry's Honorable Discharge is a testimony of selfless and faithful service to his country.
Larry continued his working career after his honorable discharge working for Mississippi Valley Steel and then he drove a dump truck, retiring at the age of 65.
Those left to mourn the passing of Larry include: his son, James Doyel (former spouse, Heather) of Dixon; two grandchildren, Kylie Doyel (Nathaniel Noll) of Brinktown, and Camie Doyel of Dixon; two great-grandchildren, Kynnedi Doyel-Noll and Tatum Doyel-Noll; two sisters, Kathie Kitchens of Lake Ozarks and Joanna Doyel of Kansas City, MO; and many other relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, William on May 11, 1981; his mother, Eula on May 18, 2019; and one brother, William Lee "Billy" Doyel on May 3, 1986.
Visitation for Larry will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, with his Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m., all in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 37515 State Highway N, Brinktown, MO 65445, with Father William Debo as celebrant, under the direction of Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
Interment with full military honors for Mr. Larry Doyel will be held in the Guardian Angels Cemetery, Brinktown.
Memorial contributions in memory of Larry are suggested per the wishes of the family, with envelopes available at the church the day of his service or in care of Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box GG, Dixon, MO 65459.
