Lena Maxine Overby, was born on April 27, 1925, at Crocker, to Charles and Beatrice (Robertson) Routh, and departed this life on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at her residence near Crocker. Mrs. Overby had attained the age of 89 years, 9 months, and 14 days.

Mrs. Overby was united in marriage on May 31, 1941, at Waynesville, to John M. Overby, and to this union, four children were born, Jack, Ollie, Judy and Junior. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 22, 2002; her parents, Charles and Beatrice; two sisters, Geneva Lanham and Lucille Gay; and two great-granddaughters.

Mrs. Overby had accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and rededicated her life and was baptized on March 13, 1998, at the Crocker Baptist Church. Mrs. Overby enjoyed reading, watching TV, cooking and her dogs. A loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother, she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Overby is survived by her four children, Jack Overby and wife, Maxine, Crocker; Ollie Moore and her husband, James, Camdenton; Judy Boulware and her husband, Wayne, Crocker; and Junior Overby and his wife, Brenda, Crocker; two brothers, James Routh, Guntersville, Alabama and Donald Routh, Brumley; ten grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Overby at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Minister Craig Rippy, Solid Rock Christian Church, St. James, officiating.

Interment was in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Overby were Jimmy Moore, Daniel Overby, David Overby, Michael Overby, Michael Long and Jacob Wogan. Honorary pallbearers were Josh Barnes and Donovan Overby.
