Linford A. Jennings, of Washington, Missouri, formerly of Dixon, was born on September 23, 1939, at Sleeper, a son of Alfred and Margaret Ethel (Blackwell) Jennings, and departed this life at 3:50 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016, in the Pacific Care Center, Pacific. Mr. Jennings had attained the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 30 days.
Mr. Jennings was united in marriage on October 6, 1962, at Dixon, to Goldie June Wiles and to this union, two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred on August 8, 1940 and his mother, Margaret Ethel on September 19, 1992.
Mr. Jennings had worked for the United States Postal Service, Dixon, retiring after 31 years of service. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed collecting Civil War books, fishing, camping and traveling.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Jennings include: his wife of nearly 54 years, Goldie Jennings of Washington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Diane Jennings, Washington and Randall and Paula Jennings, Fulton; six grandchildren, Wendi, Jason, Megan, Paige, Colton and Suzanne; a great-grandson expected in the near future; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Olis and Sharon Wiles, Willow Springs and Ruth Wiles, Dixon; and many other relatives and friends.
A private graveside service and interment was held for Mr. Jennings at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2016, in the Kenner Cemetery, near Dixon, with Pastor Jason Jordon, Lighthouse Church, Kingdom City officiating.
Honorary pallbearers for Mr. Jennings were his grandchildren, Wendi Jennings, Jason Jennings, Megan Jennings, Paige Jennings, Colton Jennings and Suzanne Jennings.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Kenner Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
