Lois W. Perez, of Crocker, was born at Hawkeye, on April 23, 1926, a daughter of Luther Ott and Viola Mary (Strutton) Lawrence, and departed this life at 1:45 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2014, in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Ft. Leonard Wood. Mrs. Perez had attained the age of 87 years, 8 months and 14 days.
Mrs. Perez was united in marriage on September 8, 1968, at Iberia, to Esequio F. "George" Perez. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kenneth Wayne Lawrence, Junior Lawrence, Sr., and Elgi Lawrence and four sisters, Eva Lawrence, Bonnie Helms, Fern Wade and Dorothy Murphy.
Mrs. Perez was a member of the First Baptist Church, Crocker; the American Legion Post No. 331 Ladies Auxiliary, St. Robert and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4956 Ladies Auxiliary, Crocker. She had worked for Brown Shoe Company, Dixon for over eighteen years; was owner and operator of Crocker Liquor Store for fifteen years and along with her husband, had mowed the grass at the Crocker Cemetery for fifteen years.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Perez include: her husband, Esequio "George" Perez, of the home in Crocker; one son, Bobby Joe Perez, Crocker; two grandsons, Robert Joseph Perez and Alex Luther Perez; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Perez at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, January 10, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Bro. Lee A. Todd, Concord Christian Church, Crocker, officiating.
Interment was in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Perez were Esequio "George" Perez, Bobby Joe Perez, Robert Joseph Perez and Alex Luther Perez.
