Obituary

Lola Mae Kelley, of rural Dixon, was born on March 9, 1936, at Dixon, a daughter of Carless William and Maudie Grace (Alexander) Baker and departed this life at 6:38 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2013, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Mrs. Kelley had attained the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 4 days.

Mrs. Kelley was united in marriage on April 23, 1955, at Dixon, to Oscar Dale Kelley, and to this union, six children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 18, 2011; her parents; three brothers, Wilburn Baker, Wayman Baker and Dorman Baker and three sisters, Pauline Campbell, Lorene Irvin and Darlene Watson.

Mrs. Kelley enjoyed helping at the Independence Schools; crocheting doilies, baking, quilting, doing word puzzles and playing cards. She was a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.


Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Kelley include: three sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Leigh Kelley, Wentworth; Ricky Kelley, St. Robert and Randy Kelley, Sugar Creek; three daughters, Kathy Kelley, Independence; Kay Long, Lone Jack and Karen Kelley, Dixon; three sisters, Fern Veasman, Denver, Colorado; Wanda Warren and Joyce Ruhl, both of Dixon; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Bradley, Casey, Danny, Katie, Steven, Annie and Darren; two step-grandchildren, JJ and Joshua; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Lillie, Noah, Owen and Lola; and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation was held for Mrs. Kelley from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon.
