Dr. LoRetta Hawk, of Crocker, was born on December 30, 1936, at Guthrie, Oklahoma, a daughter of Frank and Ruth (Cook) Phillips, and departed this life at 1:08 a.m., Sunday, July 10, 2016, in the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach. Dr. Hawk had attained the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 10 days.
Dr. Hawk was united in marriage in 1986, at Seligman, to Jeff Hawk. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Frank and Ruth Phillips; and one sister, Barbara Wolf.
Dr. Hawk was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The VFW Post No. 4956, Crocker where she served as secretary for several years. In early years she was owner and operator of a Dairy Queen and was one of the few young women that had her pilot's license and flew a single engine airplane. She had worked as an accountant, doing taxes since 1960 as well as being owner and operator of her Chiropractic business in Seligman and Kansas City, Missouri, retiring due to failing health. Dr. Hawk enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Those left to mourn the passing of Dr. Hawk include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Ingrid Tilford, Crocker and Ernest and Linda Tilford, Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Chyla Sinclair, Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, Frankie Phillips, Crescent, Oklahoma; two sisters, Shirley Sprague, Guthrie, Oklahoma and Bonnie Johnston, Crescent, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation from 10 - 11 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m.,Wednesday, July 13, 2016, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Bill Claiborn, Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker, officiating.
Interment in the Zion Cemetery near Crocker, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Relatives and Friends served as pallbearers for Dr. Hawk.
