Lorraine Teel, of Dixon, was born on December 6, 1923, at Dixon, a daughter of Johnny and Mabel (Akery) McKnolly and departed this life at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Teel had attained the age of 95 years, 9 months and 18 days.
Mrs. Teel was united in marriage on October 11, 1941 at Dixon, to Mr. Ernest Robert Teel and to this union, one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest on November 13, 1999; her father, Johnny in 1933; her mother, Mabel in 1964 and two sisters, Marcella Rybarski and Donna Robinson.
Mrs. Teel had accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and had attended the Seaton Faith Fellowship Church near Dixon until failing health no longer permitted. She worked as the Dixon City Librarian for over 40 years as well as working on the farm with her husband and being a loving and devoted homemaker. Mrs. Teel enjoyed gardening, crocheting, fishing but above all, she loved being with her grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Teel include: her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Wayne Reese, Dixon; two grandchildren, Kevin and Melinda Reese, Dixon and Kim and Luke Perkins, Iberia; five great-grandchildren, Collin, Cole, Ethan, Belle and Harper; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Teel at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Helen Winters, Seaton Faith Fellowship Church officiating.
Interment in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Teel were Wayne Reese, Kevin Reese, Collin Reese, Cole Reese, Ethan Reese and Buddy Teel. Honorary pallbearers were Kim Perkins, Melinda Reese, Belle Magner, Harper Bertoni and Luke Perkins.
Memorial contributions are suggested by Mrs. Teel's family to the Dixon Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
