Marie Sharp, 77, of Dixon, was born on March 6, 1945, at Suffolk, Virginia, a daughter of Randolph, Sr. and Mavis (Cockrell) Carpenter and departed this life at 3:00 a.m., Friday, morning, May 20, 2022 in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon.
Mrs. Sharp was united in marriage on November 10, 1962, at Dixon to Donley G. Sharp and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, Randolph and Mavis Carpenter; two brothers, Fred Carpenter and Robert Carpenter and one sister, Jeannie Kluthe.
Mrs. Sharp was baptized in Jesus Name on September 24, 2000 and received the gift of the Holy Spirit on October 29, 2000. She attended the Tabernacle of Praise in Rolla until her health no longer permitted. Mrs. Sharp had worked for the Dixon R-1 School District as a cook retiring after 18 years and was a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her husband, Don Sharp, Dixon; her children, Tina (Kevin) Davis, Dixon; Jeffrey (Sara) Sharp, Jefferson City; Kevin Sharp and Travis (Nikie) Sharp all of Dixon; nine grandchildren, Kyle (Allison) Davis; Dustin (Chiara) Davis, Brandon Davis, Lindy (C.J.) Sharp, Donavan Sharp, Haley Sharp, Ean Sharp, Haley Bemboom and James Schaffer; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Randolph Carpenter, Jr, Windsor, Virginia; many nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 10 until service time at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Timothy Blackwell, Tabernacle of Praise Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Pallbearers for Mrs. Sharp will be her grandchildren, Kyle Davis, Dustin Davis, Brandon Davis, Donavan Sharp, Ean Sharp and C.J. Sharp.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Alzheimer's Society with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon
