Obituary

Marjorie Elizabeth Geiger, age 73, of Kansas City, Missouri, was born June 20, 1951, at Fairbanks, Alaska, a daughter of Bert Granvil and Elizabeth May "Bette" (Wallis) Whittle, and passed from this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

After graduating from Eldon High School, Marjorie attended Lincoln University and Eldon Career Center earning her RN license, and in 2020 she retired from the service industry.

Early in life Marjorie enjoyed going to concerts and loved to tell the story of when she attended Woodstock the summer of 1969 after she graduated from high school. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and loved to travel. One of her favorite trips was visiting Yellowstone National Park with her youngest daughter.  Later in life Marjorie still enjoyed going to concerts, getting together with her high school classmates, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Majorie will always be remembered for being a devoted mother and grandmother.

Those left to cherish the memories of Marjorie include: her children, Amy Parsons and partner, Steve Montgomery of Popular Bluff, Mandy Nelson of Linn Creek, Megan Hernandez and husband, Anthony of Kansas City; seven grandchildren, Mackenzie Scott and fiancé, Bryan Allen, Macie Nelson, Gauge Nelson, Cody Parsons, Hailey Scherrer, Cheyenne Scott, and Colin Parsons; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip Tannehill of Fairbanks, Alaska; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her father, Bert on February 2, 1987; her mother, Elizabeth on February 4, 1981; siblings, Leo Donald "Don" Whittle" on September 24, 2023 and wife, Elsie on June 16, 2020, Louise Barnett on April 22, 2004 and husband, Edward on October 14, 2006, and Marilyn Whittle on October 8, 2020; one niece, Tiffany Whittle on February 1, 2000; four nephews, Charles Barnett on October 31, 2006, Troy Barnett on December 29, 2002, infant Carlos Barnett on January 4, 1960, and Steven Whittle on July 25, 1976.

Visitation for Marjorie will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 20, 2024, with her funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Bill Claiborn officiating, all in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 North Commercial, Crocker, Missouri 65452.

Interment for Mrs. Marjorie Geiger will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Iberia under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.  Pallbearers for Marjorie will be Anthony Hernandez, Shawn Seitz, Bert Whittle, Gauge Nelson, Cody Parsons, and Colin Parsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Whittle and Butch Whittle.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Mrs. Marjorie Geiger per the wishes of the family to help with funeral expenses, with envelopes available at the funeral home, or in care of Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box 700, Crocker, Missouri 65459.
