Marjory Ann "Marge" Manes, of Crocker, was born on January 22, 1934, in Peoria, Illinois, a daughter of Evan and Clara Lorraine (Jackson) DePoister, and departed this life at 2:14 p.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in the Richland Care Center, Richland, Missouri. Mrs. Manes had attained the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 13 days.
Mrs. Manes was united in marriage on January 18, 1956, in Mackinaw, Illinois to William Edward Manes, and to this union, five children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Manes was a faithful member of the Eureka Baptist Church in Richland, Missouri, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and attending Bible studies. She was also a member of the Crocker Chapter of TOPS. She worked in Illinois as a registered nurse, retiring in 1990 and later for the Crocker School System as the school nurse. Mrs. Manes enjoyed reading, singing, working crossword and word search puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. She especially loved the celebration of the Christmas season.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Manes include: her husband, Bill Manes, Crocker, Missouri, four sons and three daughters-in-law, Mike and Linda Manes, Dallas, Georgia; Tim and Beth Manes, Greer, South Carolina; Ron Manes, Omaha, Nebraska and Tom and Leatha Manes, Bloomington, Illinois; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and John Allen, Littleton, Colorado; one sister, Carolyn Dentino, Morton, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Julie, Lindsey, Jonathan, Jeremy, Justin, Kathryn, and Evan; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Maggie, Annabelle, Carter and Shane; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Manes at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, Missouri with Pastor Doug Jacobson, Eureka Baptist Church, Richland, Missouri officiating.
Interment was in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Manes were Kirby Wilkes, Scott Jacobson, Jeremy Allen, Justin Allen, Randy Mitchell, Randy Carroll, Jerry Thornsberry and Jake Starnes.
