Obituary

Marlene Marie Stroud, of Crocker, was born on September 17, 1942, at DeKalb, Illinois, a daughter of Raymond Phillip and Emma Clara (Armstrong) Bergeron and departed this life at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019, in the St. Joseph Bluffs, Jefferson City. Mrs. Stroud had been ill for the past few months and had attained the age of 76 years, 9 months and 8 days.

Mrs. Stroud was united in marriage on July 24, 1959 in Belvidere, Illinois to Everette Lamarr Stroud and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 29, 1999; her parents; three brothers, Harry, Vernon and Paul and one sister, Lois Lone.

Mrs. Stroud grew up in Belvidere, Illinois where as a teenager she worked at the Mug Drive In. In 1969 the family moved to Fort Leonard Wood and then to Swedeborg in 1971. She worked part-time as the Post Master for the Swedeborg Post Office for 10 years as well as being a loving and devoted military wife and mother. Mrs. Stroud was baptized in May 1993 in the Gasconade River and was a member of the Swedeborg Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Stroud include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Randy  Stroud, Crocker; Robert and Debra Stroud, Springfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Daryl Richardson, Hallsville and Lori and Dave Volner, Potosi; two brothers, Dale Bergeron and Kenny Bergeron; eight grandchildren, Nicole Rousch, Kayleigh Davis, R.J. Rousch, Jessica Hendrickson, Dylan Stroud, Austin Stroud, Dallas Richardson and Anne Richardson; six great grandchildren, Josie, Lexi, Leeland, Karter, Karleigh and Will; and many other relatives and friends.
