Martha Carrie Wilhelm, 71, of Crocker, was born on October 16, 1949, at Augusta, Georgia, a daughter of Hugh, Sr. and Amanda (DeArmond) Hightower and passed away peacefully, with her family at her side,  on September 4, 2021.

Mrs. Wilhelm was united in marriage on October 6, 1973 in Aiken, South Carolina to Mr. Robert Emanuel Wilhelm. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh, Sr. and Amanda Hightower, one brother, Hugh Hightower, Jr. and two sisters, Joyce Tollison and Iris Fox.

Martha spent 48 years with her soulmate, Robert (Bob) and together they raised one daughter. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was always willing to be of help to anyone. Mrs. Wilhelm had worked as a travel agent and cosmetologist and enjoyed being outside working in her garden beds.

Mrs. Wilhelm is survived by her husband, Bob; her daughter, Dawn Denoyer; her two grandchildren, Amber McCarty and Jacob Denoyer; her great-grandchild, Kensleigh McCarty; her siblings, Billy Hightower, Harry Hightower, Paul Hightower, Ellen Lacey, Betty Anderson, Phyllis Warren, Jenny MacKenzie and Norma Gilmore; one sister-in-law, Betty Webb and many other relatives and friends.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Martha C. Wilhelm.
