Obituary

Marvis C. (Marv) Meyer, 74, of Branson, formerly of Dixon, was born on June 21, 1947, at Frohna, Missouri a son of Alvin and Paula (Kaempfe) Meyer and departed this life at 6:54 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2022 in the Mercy Springfield Hospital.

Mr. Meyer was first united in marriage in 1969 at Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania to Miss Sally Aurene Letteer, she preceded him in death on May 6, 2011. He later was united in marriage in 2013 at St. Robert to Cynthia Elms. In addition to his first wife, Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Paula and one brother-in-law,  Jerry Unger.

Mr. Meyer was baptized early in life and was a member of the Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of Perryville High School and Southwest Missouri State college. Mr. Meyer was a United States Marine veteran who honorably served his country and attained the rank of SGT/E5. He had worked at Fort Leonard Wood over the Grounds and Maintenance Department and he and his wife were owner and operators of the Meyer Tree and Berry Farm near Dixon for over 40 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post Number 298, Dixon and a member and past president of Ducks Unlimited. Mr. Meyer was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter and was an admirer of old red barns.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Meyer include: his wife, Cindy Meyer of Branson and her children, Joeseph (Jennifer) Smith and Christal (Carlos) Corea and their children, Camron, Chloe, Carmen, Marcus and Felix; his siblings and their spouses, Courtney (Connie) Meyer, Seward, Nebraska; Imogene Unger, Frohna; Pearline (Larry) Degenhardt, St. Louis and Ritha Hacker, Cape Girardeau; 8 nephews and 1 niece; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Mr. Meyer from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, February 28, 2022 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, 205 W. Third Street, Dixon, with Pastor Jeffery E. Gray, New Harvest Apostolic Church, St. Robert, officiating. Military honors will follow his service at the funeral home.

Interment will be next to his first wife, Sally, in the Benton Cemetery, Benton, Pennsylvania at a later date and time. Honorary pallbearers for Mr. Meyer are Joeseph Smith, Carolos Corea, Bill Elms and Dennis Elms.
