Obituary

Mary Ellen Joan Cardin, age 87, of Dixon, was born on December 17, 1935, at Bloodland, Missouri, a daughter of Floyd E. and Bessie M. (Lambeth) Williams and departed this life on Tuesday night, August 1, 2023 in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation, Dixon.

Mrs. Cardin was united in marriage on June 4, 1954, at Bellflower to Mr. Robert Dean Cardin and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 16, 2018; her father on February 4, 1985; her mother on August 18, 2000; her daughter, Kathi Ioane on August 24, 2021; her granddaughter, Ellen Jean Cardin on October 8, 2007; her sister, Velma Lea Doyle on December 16, 1997 and her husband, John Willard Doyle on March 24, 2018.

Mrs. Cardin was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene where she also played the piano. She assisted her husband in the family businesses, R&M Fiberglass, Country View Acres Campground and Cardin's Carpet and was manager for the Good Samaritan in Waynesville as well as being a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always diligent in helping to provide for the needs of her family. She had a green thumb and could grow any kind of plants and flowers.

Those left to mourn the passing but cherish the memories of Mrs. Cardin include: her children, Larry (Jeannie) Cardin; Ed (Tina) Cardin and Dawn (Jeremy) Tope; son-in-law, Nick Ioane, all of Dixon; eleven grandchildren, Christina, Rachael, Andrew, Angel, Devon, Cheyenne, Wyatt, Matt, Stefanie, Adam and Jayson; numerous great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Mrs. Cardin on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 9 -10 a.m. with her funeral service following at 10 a.m. in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Robert Hamm, Meta officiating.

Mrs. Cardin will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
