Obituary

Mary Corene Marso, of Crocker, was born on January 27, 1943, at Ulman, a daughter of Robert Noel and Opal Arizona (McDowell) Long and departed this life at 9:56 a.m., Sunday morning, November 10, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Marso had attained the age of 76 years, 9 months and 14 days.

Mrs. Marso was united in marriage on September 1, 1978 in the Concord Christian Church, Crocker to John Thomas Marso. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Noel Long, Jr.

Mrs. Marso was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Waynesville. She loved her dog and cats and enjoyed raising caged birds, tending to her flower gardens, gardening, going to swap meets, and baking but most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her family. Mrs. Marso was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Marso include: her husband, John Marso, Crocker; her children: Leah "Charmaine" Gray, Crocker; David Gray, state of Alabama and Jon L. Gray and his wife, Hope, Crocker; her step children, Tina Dougan and her husband, Greg, Richland; Opal Gibbs and her husband, Dennis and Alan Marso and his wife, Janet, all of Crocker; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Austin, Zayne, Jonathan, Iyzach, Ashley and Olivia; five step-grandchildren, David, Lisa, Catherine, Brian and Amanda; nine step-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Marsha Herrington, of Illinois; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Michael Szpunar of North Carolina; her sister-in-law, Therese Long, of California and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 - 11 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker.

Graveside funeral services will be held for Mrs. Marso at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019 in the Hawkeye Cemetery near Crocker, with Bro. Jerry Pitchford officiating.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Marso are Alan Marso, Aaron Dochterman, Jon Gray, Jonathan Gray, Iyzach Gray and Shayne Alexander. Honorary pallbearers are Amos Long and David Gray.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Hawkeye Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
