Mary Catherine McKinnon, of Dixon, was born on January 30, 1933, at Vienna, a daughter of John Frank and Bertha Martha (Bauer) Stratman and departed this life at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehab Center, Dixon. Mrs. McKinnon had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 22 days.

Mrs. McKinnon was united in marriage on December 28, 1954, in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna to Mr. Billy G. McKinnon and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 24, 2011; her father, John on November 30, 1991; her mother, Bertha on June 10, 1962; seven brothers, Raymond Stratman, Jerry Stratman, John H. Stratman, Ed Stratman, Charlie Stratman, Herbert Stratman and Harold Stratman; one infant sister, Rita Stratman and one sister-in-law, Vera Prater.

Mrs. McKinnon was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon and the Altar Society. She had worked for the MFA, Dixon and later for Goodrich Gas as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Mrs. McKinnon enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and quilting.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. McKinnon include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Carol McKinnon and Mark and Teresa McKinnon, all of Dixon; one daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Don Myres, Dixon; six grandchildren, Kevin (Jenni) Lang, Ashlie (Norman) Otto, Lance (Jamie) McKinnon, Sara McKinnon, Amber McKinnon, and Kara McKinnon; two step-grandchildren, Gary Myres and Debbie Bailey; nine great-grandchildren with one expected in the near future; four step great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Rose Mary Stratman, Vienna; two sisters and brother-in-law, Viola Chambers, Vienna and Irene and Tony Kampeter, Florissant; brother-in-law, Bill Prater, Dixon; and many other relatives and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. McKinnon at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017, in the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Joseph Hoi celebrating.

Interment was in the St. Theresa Catholic (Egan) Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. McKinnon were Kevin Lang, Lance McKinnon, Larry Prater, Dan Ostermiller, Norm Otto, Mikey Fritchey and Blake Lang. Honorary pallbearers were Haven Fritchey, Paige Lang, Prezlie Fritchey, Ben Otto, Kynzlee Morgan, Luke Otto, Kadie Fritchey, Paxton McKinnon.

Masses or memorials to the St. Theresa Catholic Church or Cemetery are suggested by the family with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
