Mary Kathryn Nelson (nee Browning) 78, of Dixon Missouri died Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO as a result of a stroke.  She was born March 2, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to Robert Lee Browning & Rose Emma (Boehm) Browning.

She married Ralph J. Nelson on June 14, 1968 in Arnold, MO and remained a faithful & dutiful wife during his career in the United States Army.  She particularly enjoyed being the "Command Spouse" and friend to the many young men and women of the 399th Army Band during and after Ralph's career. Mary was an active member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Dixon and beyond.  She was active with Ralph in the early days of the Dixon Community Scholarship Fund.

Mary is survived by many Nieces & Nephews, Great Nieces & Nephews and Great-great Nieces & Nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Robert Francis Browning, Vernon W. Browning, Virginia M. Litzau, Joseph Browning and great-niece, Theresa I. Litzau.

Per her wishes she was afforded cremation rites.  A Celebration of Life with a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 506 Oak St., Dixon, MO will be held on April 12, 2025 at 10:30 a.m., with Father Henry Ussher, officiating.  Interment will follow in the St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery on Columbia Road south of Dixon.
