Obituary

Mary Kaye (Breeden) Rogers, age 79, of Dixon, was born on February 28, 1946, at Fort Leonard Wood, a daughter of Leonard Abraham and Helen Genevieve (Jennings) Breeden and passed from this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Phelps Health, Rolla.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour at the age of ten and was baptized by Bro. Edwin Bauer while attending the First Baptist Church, Dixon, and at the time of her passing was a member of Sheppard Baptist Church. Dixon. She was an accomplished pianist and had played the piano for both churches.  Mary was a1964 Dixon R1 High School Graduate where she had also accompanied the Glee Club, and was a 1968 graduate of Central Methodist University, Fayette.  Throughout her working life she was an elementary music teacher in both Dixon and Granite City, Illinois.  Mary was a devoted Christian always willing to lend a helping hand and loved medieval, British and European history.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mary include: her brother, Dr. Richard Breeden and wife, Denise, Rolla; six nephews and nieces, Lisa Shattuck, and husband, Ray, Crocker; Vicky Finger, and husband, Mark, Dixon; Jennifer Kelnstin, State of Oregon; Jason Breeden and wife, Sara, Lyle, Washington,  Brenna Breeden, and Jarrett Breeden both  of Rolla; four great nephews and; nieces; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard on March 31, 1995; her mother, Helen on March 23, 2010; one brother, Forrest Kelnstin on March 6, 2004; one sister, Vienna Tyson on October 24, 2012; nephew, Christopher Kelnstin, and niece, Anna Marie Friye.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until her service time at 11:00 a.m. in the Sheppard Baptist Church, 14281 Cardinal Road, Dixon, Missouri 65459 under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon, with Pastor Ryan Anderson officiating.

Interment will be in the Dixon Cemetery with Ray Shattuck, Mark Finger, Hunter McCoy, Jarrett Breeden, A.J. VanCamp, and Cole Shattuck serving as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Dixon Cemetery with envelopes available at the funeral home or in c/o Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home, P.O. Box GG, Dixon, MO  65459.
