Obituary

Mary Ann Rowden, of rural Dixon, was born on March 24, 1941, in Miller County, a daughter of Seldon and Ruby (Hunt) Humphrey and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 28, 2013, at her residence near Dixon surrounded by her family. Mrs. Rowden had been in failing health and had attained the age of 72 years, 3 months and 4 days.

Mrs. Rowden was united in marriage on June 30, 1956, at Dixon, to Harold James "Chuck" Rowden, and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her father in 1958; her mother in 1998; and one daughter, Loretta Rowden Ginnings on November 17, 1997.

Mrs. Rowden was a housewife and homemaker and enjoyed camping, gardening, baking and being with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a woman with an unconditional love for her family and friends. Mrs. Rowden loved her Lord and loved going to church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Rowden include: her husband, Harold "Chuck" Rowden, Dixon; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Beth Rowden, Dixon; one daughter and son-in-law, Darlane and Darrell Burnett, Dixon; three grandchildren, Heather (Rowden) Allen; Lacy (Rowden) Casey and Aaron James Burnett; four great-grandchildren, Clayton Allen, Jentry Allen, Ayden Casey and Zackary Allen; two brothers, Jewell Humphrey, Ulman and Donley Humphrey, Warsaw; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Rowden at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Pastor Lloyd Mattocks, Lighthouse Worship Center, Dixon, and Rev. Dan Biggs, New Beginnings Revival Center, Waynesville, officiating. Special singing was provided by Zane Rowden, Patsy Rowden and Pam George.

Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Rowden were Aaron Burnett, Garry Allen, Dustin Casey, Kevin Rowden, Wayne Rowden, and Doug Burnett. Honorary Pallbearers were Terry Humphrey, Lynn Wilson, and Robert Bishop.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
