Mary Ruth York, of Wentzville MO, was born on January 6 th , 1936 in Jefferson City, a daughter of Ira Lewis "Babe" and Esslie Mable (Berry) Perkins, and departed this life Friday, August 19 th , 2022.
Mary was united in marriage on June 18 th , 1955 to Milford E. York and to this union, two sons were born. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, her parents, two brothers, Bob Perkins and Myrl Perkins, and one sister, Anna Newby.
Mary moved from Dixon to St. Louis, MO when she was 17 and worked as an office assistant for several years until she and Milford started a family. She again started working at Mr. Donut later in life to help her son's through college. Though she struggled with severe arthritis most of her adult life, Mary remained one of the most positive individuals you could meet and was an inspiration to her family. She was a follower of Jesus Christ and a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Hazelwood, MO and Dixon.
Mary loved her family deeply, but her love extended beyond her immediate family. She enjoyed listening to people's stories and had the uncanny ability to remember the small details about each person she met along her journey.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mary are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Chiffvon York of Lake Jackson, TX and Bruce and Wendy York of O'Fallon, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Jude Perkins of Warrenton, MO; three grandsons, Justin, Collin, and Trevor York; one granddaughter, Kiersten York; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mary will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 27, 2022 in the Church of Christ, Dixon.
Interment will be in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with envelopes available at the church or the office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
