Obituary

Meredith Louise Mackney, of Osage Beach, formerly of Crocker, was born on February 12, 1934 in the north bedroom of the family farmhouse in Puxico Mo. The daughter of William Oscar and Helen Louise (Moore) Siler, she received her angel wings at 7:00 am, Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach. Meredith had attained the age of 86 years, 10 months and 28 days.

Meredith was united in marriage on June 27, 1953, in Puxico to Charles Cordell Mackney and to this union they had two children, Vicki Lynn, and Michael. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles; her son, Michael; one grandson, Christopher "Bucky" Michael Henson; two brothers, Forrest Siler, Chuck Siler, and one sister, Beverly Findley.

Meredith grew up in Puxico working on the family farm picking cotton as a child.  After high school and marriage, she moved to Crocker and started a family where she lived for the next 65 years. Working a job at Fort Leonard Wood for many years, she later began working as a cashier for H&L Supermarket. A job she enjoyed immensely.

Meredith was baptized early in life and was a faithful member of the Crocker Christian Church. She enjoyed singing with Edna June Adamson, Betty Brown and others regularly in the church choir. She always took part in the Christmas Cantatas and recently, the Journey to Bethlehem. She was active in PTA, many community functions, and would sing the National Anthem at many of the Crocker basketball games. She loved being around people, especially her family. But her most prized and most loved were her grandchildren. She was always ready to pull out a photo and show to anyone.

Meredith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Joe Manzer; three grandchildren, Michael Manzer, Megan Manzer and Mackenzie Manzer Kelly and her husband, Blake; two great-grandchildren, Kit Marcus and Quaid Michaels; one brother, Douglas Siler and his wife, Linda; and many other relatives and friends.
