Michael D. "Mike" Carlson, of Dixon, was born on May 24, 1959, at Greenville, Michigan, a son of James Lee and Janice Lorraine (Bannen) Jeppesen and departed this life at 9:20 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at his residence. Mike had been in failing health the past few months and had attained the age of 61 years, 3 months and 1 day.

Mike was baptized while attending the Gospel Tabernacle Church near Dixon. He had worked as a concrete finisher and all aspects of carpentry. He loved animals and was always helping with the rescue of dogs. Mike raised many different exotic animals and pets and was a cattle and burro farmer. He was a devote democrat.

Mike leaves behind to cherish his memories: his mother, Jan Carlson; his step children, TR (Rachel), Mary Sue (Richard) and Betty Jo (Brad);  grandchildren, Richie, Kodi, Andy and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Arabella, Rylee, Konner, Kylee, Skylar and Nolan; sisters, Mary, Shelley and Angie; and many, many, good friends too numerous to name them all, that he thought of like family.

He was preceded in death by his father and a great-grandchild, Harper Ray.

Per Mike's wishes, he was cremated and will be taken back to his home state of Michigan where he will be laid to rest in his family's plot of the Gravel Ridge Cemetery in Coral, Michigan.
