Michael Gene Lane, 63, of Crocker, was born on October 14, 1958, at Waynesville, a son of Lloyd Ellis and Rosemary (Skinner) Lane and departed this life on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

Mike was baptized early in life while attending Sweet Home Christian Church near Crocker. He was a graduate of Crocker High School. Mike had worked as a carpenter for most of his life, with the brief time that he worked on a shrimp boat in Florida. He enjoyed fishing until his health no longer permitted.

Mike will be greatly missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Barbara Lane of Dixon; his significant other, Rebecca Lane, Crocker; three nephews, Brian Lane and Matthew Lane both of Dixon and Nathan Lane, Richland; one niece, Sarah Cain of Rolla; uncles; aunts and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd in May 1987 and his mother Rosemary in March 2009.

Visitation from 10 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Bill Claiborn, Hilltop Christian Union Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mike are Dale Case, Matthew Lane, Nathan Lane, Keith Lawson, Doug Burnett, Larry Taylor, Kevin Lawson and Darrell Burnett.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
