Obituary

Michael Dean "Mike" Nichols, 62, of Dixon, was born on October 5, 1958 at Waynesville a son of Lonnie Eugene and Helen Rosene (Dake) Nichols and departed this life suddenly on Monday, May 10, 2021 at his residence.

Mike was baptized early in life. He was a member of the Dixon High School 1976 State Baseball Team Championship and a 1977 graduate. He had worked for MODOT on the bridge crew until he was injured. Mike took great pride in keeping his hometown clean and had received the citizen of the year award from the City of Dixon for his volunteer work for sweeping the streets. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed doing puzzles. He always had a smile for everyone.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mike include: his mother, Helen Nichols; his brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Luann Nichols, all of Dixon; one nephew, Tim Nichols and his wife, Kate, Columbia, Tennessee; one niece, Jenny Null and her husband, Mike, Dixon; great-nephews, Michael and Mason Null, Caiden, Miller and Brantley Nichols; one great-niece, Mattie Null; and many other relatives and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie on July 21, 1968.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 13, 2021, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Dennis Nichols and Tommy Nichols officiating.

Interment will be in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mike are Jenny Null, Tim Nichols, Mike Null, Bill Howser, Van Beydler, Mike King, Daryl Akery and Robbie Dake. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Null, Mason Null, Mattie Null, Caiden Nichols, Miller Nichols and Brantley Nichols.

Memorials are suggested by the family to the Fair Haven Children's Home at 3132 North Fairhaven Loop, Strafford, MO  65757.
