Michael Anthony "Mike Szulkowski, of Dixon, was born December 20, 1959, at Frankfurt, Germany, a son of Anthony John Joseph and Mary Ernestine (Gomez) Szulkowski, and departed this life at 6:31 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 near Dixon, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mike had attained the age of 52 years and 7 months.
Mike was a United States Navy veteran and had worked as an electrician for Speedline Technologies, Camdenton. He was preceded in death by his father on April 20, 1978; his mother on March 8, 2011 and an infant sister, Robbin Rose Szulkowski on July 29, 1957.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mike include: one son, Steven Michael Szulkowski, Avondale, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Kaleigh Szulkowski, Avondale, Pennsylvania; one grandson, Brycen Szulkowski; one brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Cecile Szulkowski, Cocoa, Florida; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Michelle and Keith Crane, Ashland; Deborah Szulkowski, Crocker; Maryjo and Tim Brumett, Dixon; family friend, Roxanne Loomis, Avondale, Pennsylvania; and many other relatives and friends.
Mike was on avid outdoorsman. He loved to spend his free time camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. That was where he found his most enjoyment. He made several trips to Alaska with friends and family. His friendly outgoing personality made him a joy to be around. He will be deeply missed by everyone.
Visitation will be held for Mike from 12 Noon to 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 27, 2012 with a Prayer Service at 2:00 P.M., with Father Walter Reisinger, St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon, officiating, all in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon.
